McCarthyism at it’s Worst

No, I am not talking about the late Sen McCarthy and I am not talking about Ted Cruz or Michelle Bachmann.  I am speaking of Gina McCarthy, Obama’s pick to take over the EPA.  Although, Lisa Jockson gained the noteriety for changing the EPA into a political machine, it was McCarthy behind the scenes, who brought about the worst of the EPA regulations.

May 1st, 2010, McCarthy spoke at the University of Massachusetts in Boston.  She told the crowd at the Green Education Celebration, “But I will tell you that I didn’t go to Washington to sit around and wait for Congressional action. Never done that before, and don’t plan to in the future,”  If that doesn’t scare you, nothing will.  True, the EPA has lost 17 cases , mostly before SCOTUS, but when you throw enough crap against the wall, sooner or later, some of it’s gonna stick.  No doubt, you will see the carbon tax almost immediately.  That will be followed by large Obama donors buying into carbon trading and then tougher emissions regulations will soon follow.

The number one target, she’ll go after are the power companies.  Expect to see your electric bill to explode before she is done.  Natural gas will find that McCarthy and fracking doesn’t mix.  And moreover, she is proud of all the court cases that have been brought against it.  They are still waiting to win one, but it’s not for lack of trying.  McCarthy is willing to break the law as many times as she has to and court cases, be damned.

It was McCarthy, who pressed for the new power plant regulations that effectively outlaw coal fired plants.  The regulation says that a plant cannot emit more than 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide.  Using every bit of technology we have and assume unlimited resources and cost being unimportant, and you can get no lower than 1800 pounds per day.  Even natural gas, which is a much cleaner burning fuel, barely fits under that guideline set forth without consent of congress.

If the republican senators allow this nomination to go through, we might as well give up.  Between exploding medical costs and sky high heat and air conditioning, we will be squezed pretty badly.  Do they have the onions to do it?  I have my doubts.
